Foam: Traditional, mattress made from rubber or plastic solidified in a lightweight cellular mass.

Gel infused memory foam: Also made from viscoelastic, but it has been infused with gel. Gel foam was introduced in mattresses to offer cooler sleep and assist with pressure relief.

Latex foam: Type of foam designed to outlast traditional spring mattresses. It can be made using natural or synthetic (manmade) ingredients.

3. Coir mattresses

Coir: A natural type of coconut fiber, popular for its moisture reducing capacity and is a good ventilator that absorbs heat.
It is naturally a hygroscopic material (readily attracts water through either absorption or adsorption) and hence is absorbs moisture from the air.

Rubberized Coir: Mixture of coconut fiber and natural rubber. It creates a sheet that allows for air circulation and is non-absorbent. It is relatively airier in design.
